Carlos Soto was born in Buga Valle, Colombia. Carlos has been interested in art since he first saw the art of impressionist painters such as Paul Cezzane, Monet and Renoir in his early years. While in his native land, he took some art classes to further his appreciation for art. Carlos moved to Tampa in 1981 andI started sharpening his skills in oil painting under the direction of the colombian artist, Yolanda Suarez in the late 90s.. He has been participating in several art shows in Tampa area such as: Expressions of Art HCC Dale Mabry Campus Art Gallery-September 2008, Celebrating our Heritage at Teco Plaza Hall - October 2008, Spring Estravaganza at The Tower At Westshore - March 2009, Expressions of Nature and the Marine Habitat.
